Not in western world, yes. But in Middle-East it's around 5-15$ or so I have read.

No, they sell for several hundred dollars each, whatever you read sounds pretty damn handicapped. How would gun smugglers fund their operations if they sold guns for that little?

Because AK47 is one of cheapest weapons to produce. And since there are so much of those weapons, price is low. Besides it's not like they use new or original ones, they may as well have alternative versions of those with even cheaper parts.

Ak47s sold in bulk are relatively cheap.

Ak47s sold in bulk are relatively cheap.
Relatively cheap in comparison to most other weapons, but they can't be $5.

The AK47s that are floating around the blackmarket today are all from the Russians. Ever since the demise of the soviet union, warehouses of AK47s were raided by or sold to illegal arms dealers that in-turn armed organizations like Al Qaeda, African warlords, and even modern pirates. They don't produce these weapons, all of them are stolen from derelict military stockpiles and then resold to the highest bidder.

Relative to what the United States' military pays for their weapons yes, but by no means cheap.

They have been produced all over the world not just Soviet Union. Wiki says price is between 30-125$ so I was a bit wrong with the price, yes.

Well those aren't real AK47s, they're generally stuffty reproductions that they sell for nothing. They breakdown, jam, and are generally made from the cheapest materials available in sweatshops third-world sweatshops. The real guns still go for $400-500 but have been dropping in price due to handicapped african mondays not knowing the difference between a piece-of-stuff reproduction and a military-grade Kalashnikov.

You just described an AK-47.

Obama is such an anti-war guy!

I pointed it out earlier that they probably use cheaper parts. What I really wanted to say is that the war is pointless because the insurgents are nearly worthless in terms of money compared to American troops. They also don't value their life as much as western people because of their wrong way of understanding the religion. So they don't really care if they die or not. Thus they just keep coming and coming as long as there are women who can give birth.

You just described an AK-47.

Really? I'm not exactly a /k/ommando but aren't AK47s renowned for like never ever breaking down?

They are renowned for easy construction and simple technology. All Soviet things are renowned for easy construction and simple technology. Thus if the thing ever breaks down, every person who knows what the thing is about, is also able to fix it. But that doesn't mean those things are sturdy and reliable, not at all.

We own one here, and if you use Russian ammunition that was meant for long-storage [Covered in paint to stop them from rusting] it get's clogged quite easily.

You likely own a fraud and it is likely not a genuine AK47.

My mom told me about how she used to have classes where she was taught and practiced how to disassemble and assemble an AK47, and also fired them at a range.  Why they had the women doing this I will never know, but she told me for a fact that they were quality and were pretty well made (hence why the loving AK47 is so god damn popular despite being made in 1947).
