Author Topic: Getting a small dog, which breed though?  (Read 1173 times)

Title, I am considering of getting this:

Tibetan Spaniel

Anyone else think so?

I want a dog that hardly sheds, is small, isn't a chihuahua, and isn't like a Mastiff or a Rottweiler.

Oh, I'm not buying a dog also, I'm rehoming one.

<3

i'd say miniature beagle just 'cause i've had one in the past but i looked it up and apparently they shed like forget

Beagles get all emo unless you have 2 or more.

Mini bulldog
name it sir james or something

Beagles are pretty calm but playful. They also handle cats and other dogs well so they'd be a good family pet.

Try to avoid the ones that look like they got their face kicked in by a horse.

Bichon Frise.
Now.
Yeah, they are pretty lovey, I've been trying to get a Lasa Phaso or however you spell it, Bichon Frise isn't in the rehoming center I'm going for. I'll look around.

Golden Retriever + Chihuahua = Oh my god

Shetland Sheepdog (miniature collie)

My grandma has 2 Chihuahua's. They are mean little things, and my mom bought a miniature poodle and it is crazy and freaks out when someone leaves the room for 5 seconds. Don't get either. :S

I said in OP I didn't want a Chihuahua, there like dogs that sit in your lap all day.
Poodles are horrible, but when they are crossbreed, it's pretty awesome. The fact that the breed of like a Shih tzu + Poodle's genes are nice. Poodles in general look ugly, also, Shih tzu and a poodle crossbred together is a Shih poo, what a unfortunate name. lol.

roosterer Spanials are nice.
They don't tend to be very big.

They can grow to be a little bit too big to be a lapdog, but most of them are small.
Infact, my roosterer Spanial is like some sort of giant mutant. It's really big compared to all the others, including his brothers and sisters.

I suggest an English roosterer Spanial, though. American roosterer's aren't that nice.
They're similar, but they've got this horrible sticky-uppy nose.
