I've had experience with Ubuntu before, so I guess I'll just stick with that.

Ubuntu still has Gnome, you have to log out and log back in with Gnome selected. c:
And what should I use? Arch Linux or Ubuntu? I'm about to begin installing one of them.
OpenSUSE its Stable and sponsored by AMD =3

Slicksilver555's fix only fixes the master server posting issue while hosting a dedicated server, there are still many other bugs with hosting a dedicated server.

i've ironed out most of my bugs. got the server to run out of it's 2 hour span.

3 hour span now.

3 hour span now.

aand it died :C. i need to compile wine-stable soon.

So I got Wine.
And Ubuntu 10.04 (old download) and after getting Wine, steam, and another application to work on Wine, I have decided to install it once and for all, alongside XP lest I need to go back. But I don't want to lose XP even if it means I can't install Ubuntu, so I freak when I see this.

Can someone explain this?

I don't want to advance the installation. The create new table button looks good, but it says it creates a new partion above all partitions or something of that nature, which leads me to believe its gonna wipe everything.

just get the new one and chose install alongside windows.

-snip-
Get 11.04 and choose to install alongside Windows, or go back to Windows and use the Wubi installer also available on their website,

Wubi installer didn't work the last time I tried it.
I would prefer Netbook Edition which is only available in 10.04 LTS.

If I remember right, the only major difference was the Unity shell being used instead of GNOME 2 for the 10.04 Netbook edition.
11.04 uses Unity by default.

But anyways, try shrinking your Windows partition in Windows, and then install Ubuntu to the unformatted space.

Bump because i love this OS.

I just installed this two days ago and already i'm using this more than windows.

So am I.

Anyone have any tips on "iOS-ifying" GNOME 2?

Downloaded 11.04 or whatever version it is...
Now I have it on a CD to install on one of the computers.
Problem? The computer is a piece of stuff and only has 30gb of disk space total.
:/
The other computer, (the one I had a problem with originally,) is still stuck on the same page.

I loving hate partitions, can someone walk me through this?
edit 1,Is there a way to make a usb hard drive appear as a normal hard drive in the BIOS? I have a 160gb one laying around, I could use it.
Edit 2, is there a way to get that lovey sidebar? It automatically showed up in the netbook version, but the desktop looks like stuff.

Just install your video card drivers.
