How to get a grid backround in paint.net

               No flaming im new to paint.net

so i found a tutorial on the internet for making decals with paint.net:

                                 Problems:

1.I tried it but the decal didnt show up in add ons Folder

2. In discription it said that you have to have a gray 'n white grid or else the picture decal wont come out right. i dont know how to get the grid





Please help me and no flaimng since im new to decals.
