Author Topic: Read-Only Error  (Read 1093 times)

When I open BL, there is a message that says Blockland can't write key.dat file. I tried making Blockland not read only and i made key.dat not read only, but it still pops up. What should I do??

find the key.dat file in your blockland folder, and edit it so it's read and write for everybody

how do i do that

Right click key.dat and select properties.
Click the security tab and click the edit button.
Select your username and set full for everything.
Hit ok/apply.

You could also try running Blockland in administrative mode.

Wait
When I click properties it only shows General and Summary, no security.

I just got this problem today...I wont be able to play Blockland.

Also this...

you have to make sure the blockland folder is in a directory that is local for the user. Windows 7 does that allow disallow stuff. It makes some programs not able to write save files and such. Try putting the whole blockland folder on the desktop or in your documents somewhere.

Also, I got the same error when I was testing for the problem
I found that going into the key.dat properties and UNCHECK both hidden and read-only
Click apply
Click ok

Try it

Is [)u[)e an alt of |)u|)e? O_o

Anyway, take the entire blockland folder, and move it to desktop.
