Author Topic: Finishing a Project  (Read 623 times)

Does anyone have any tips on finishing a project and keeping motivation throughout it?

I understand some arguments that some projects can never be finished as there can always be more added to it, but I'm talking on just getting far along in a build or project, enough to be playable or proudly shown off.

Has anyone tried drawing out their project a bit on like a drawing board beforehand? Does this help at all in the sense you know what to do as opposed to just continuously and randomly building?

I'm looking for tips such as mentioned above. I'm sure many people would appreciate feedback on this topic.

Make yourself think that you are applying to a clan, that it needs to be done ASAP, and it needs to be amazing.

I find that when I draw it out I have a higher chance of finishing it, but it isn't the end-all, beat-all solution.  Try listening to music while building, not the music on Blockland, but go to YouTube and search a song and listen to it.

Also: Try to take it in small parts.  Finish this tower today.  Finish the main walls tomorrow.  Don't do too much in one day or else you get bored and move on, but don't drag it out for too many days or you will still get bored.

what i tend to try to do is start it, get halfway done, then give it to somebody else to finish
it never works :c (nobody will take it damit)

Music. Can't build without music.

I listen to "I'm Blue" to help me get through building, eventing, scripting, etc.

No, listen to Pendulum. This really helps. Although if it starts getting repetitive switch to something like Joe Satriani.
