Author Topic: Xbox 360 controller wont connect.  (Read 861 times)

I've tried google and I can't find anything for my exact problem.

Okay so yesterday I bought a new Xbox 360 "S"... the black one. The controller it came with works fine but today my parents were out and they came home with a used xbox 360 controller. I can turn it on and stuff but when I do the Xbox button just has a green flashing ring around it. I've tried pressing the connect button on the xbox and pressing the connect button on the controller and the only thing that happens is the xbox has a spinning ring for about 10-15 seconds. The controller just flashes. What should I do to get the second controller to connect to my xbox?

did you sync it

Well when we first got it, it had some rechargable power pack thing but it didn't come with a charging cable. So my parents took it in to where they got it and they just switched the pack thing for one that runs from batteries like the working controller. But the only controller that works is the one that came with the xbox.

This is really unusual.
I never have any problems hooking up controllers from friends' xboxs or anything like that.

Bump from second page.

Perhaps, the issue lies with the controller you might think about returning it as well.

Gamestop will replace busted used contrers if they are still under the warranty.

Well I tried holding down the connect button on the controller and it worked. The only issue now is that the battery pack is kind of loose so sometimes the controller will turn off but we can probably find a way to fix it... duct tape.

I was gonna say, did you even bother to check the batteries?

This happend to me and my brother. We jusr keep ares on a power cable. Best part is it didn't start doing it untill we left the controller on over night once
