I'm having some issues with New Vegas on steam, is this normal?

I've only played this game for a few minutes and I have a few problems. The biggest is that I can litterally walk over objects like counters, containers, stools, chairs, etc. It's getting annoying and I can't stand it.

Then there is this dog named Chyenne and for some reason the eyes are missing from the head and floating off to the right side.


This doesn't seem normal, how do I patch this game on steam?

In what situation would you need to walk to a counter and keep trying to move without moving.
Just stop moving, lol.
If anything, a bug like that would help you.

Or it would more convienient if I didn't have the ability to walk over these objects in the first place.

I can do it to some cars but not all.


I don't have this issue with Fallout 3 so I shouldn't have it with New Vegas.
