Author Topic: Heli Crash Course [Zombie Survival] Pictures are back.  (Read 4982 times)

The men sat quietly. It wasn't as if they could do anything, much less talk over the roar of the helicopter engine. A few spent their silence looking out the side of the vehicle, as if they could see images in the dense fog. Some others tried in vain to sleep, while the rest wasted their time recalling past memories. Some just blanked out, with a dazed kind of look on them, like a residual shock from their past experiences.

The pilot was an old man, nearing the end of his 50's. He'd flown helicopters for years as a tour pilot, sometimes even taking on private jobs for the well-to-do. As a result he was chosen to fly the bird, although he could easily succumb to medical conditions associated with aging. Most of the passengers didn't really expect something drastic to occur during the flight that would strain his abilities, much less cause him to die. The only thing he felt that was severe was the freezing weather up in the mountains, but he was already dressed for that. In his mind he already knew that this flight was easier than most.

As a result, he was slow to react when a boulder came flying out of the fog ahead of him. The stone flew past the helicopter, missing it entirely. Before he could react, a second projectile appeared. It splattered over the window and in a split second, the pilot realized it was a mutilated human body.

The passengers suddenly felt the helicopter tilt down as the pilot went into cardiac arrest. A few sitting on the edge tumbled to their doom, piercing the monotone of the engine with their screams. The remaining people held on for their life, with the copilot trying to get control of the helicopter. Suddenly, the roof of the vehicle crunched inwards as a huge chunk of rock smashed into the top of the heli. Pieces of the rotor blades trailed off as the helicopter plummeted.

Boxes from the back hold of the heli began to slide downwards, pushing some unlucky souls out the sides. One heavy crate slid towards the front compartment, hitting the co-pilot's seat and crushing the man against the front window of the heli. Another followed, smashing the windshield open, followed by the copilot who slid out the hole in the glass. The rest of the passengers used the last split second left to them to brace for impact.

The vehicle slammed into the ground, sending up a plume of snow. Other debris and crates from the helicopter landed nearby, including parts of the rotor and blades. The roof of the vehicle, weakened by the boulder, broke off. After a few seconds, all the passengers could hear were the sound of the wind. Slowly, a single passenger climbed out of the wreck, followed by another. The two began to dig out the rest of passengers, knowing full well that their survival will now be determined by how many people they have to resist the hordes...

This is a zombie survival, with lots of upgradable and purchasable weapons and defenses. You defend against hordes of zombies in 2 minute rounds followed by some time in the shop to decide what to buy.

Before saying "this is nothing new" take a look at the pics:

*cough* Well, you may be wondering what happened to this topic. Wonder no more.

The helicopter crash now only exists in the past. Next week shall mark the beginning of the next chapter in this mini-series.

To all of you who miss the build, you may find it next week on my server.

*end transmission.

Note: only applies to this build as of now. Expect more survivals on the line of this type in the future.

Ol' Jack's Survival Tips

Well, looky here, you have a zombie infestation. More like a siege, I reckon. Either way I can tell you how to sure sur-vive against hordes of them nasty buggers.

By the looks of your base you'll need to watch each other backs a lot. It's no fun when you realize the guy right next to you has been eaten dead from the back inwards and that you're all alone. Since I dunno what the hell that "third-person" thingamajig you're talking about I'll just say that its always better when your friend is watching your back.

That fog looks quite unnaturally dense. I bet that if you walk into it you'll be toast for sure. Or, raw pork roast for the buggers.

Didn't you know that fixing up those fifteen bites on your arm takes time? I remember trying to do that once while they was chasing me. Absolutely no fun at all, nearly died that time. Good thing my buddy saw me in time.

Dem pain pills you have only last for oh so long. That feeling of goodness quickly runs out after those buggers get a few bites on you.

Your pistol? Can hold them all off? You're just plain ol' stupid. Everyone knows that cuttin' yer haid off works faster than shooting your stomach fifteen times. That's fifteen bullets lost, too, since you can't use 'em again. Then again, they're quite useful to keep them at a distance.

It's much better to have five people with machine pistols than one guy with a machine gun. Same goes for the zombies too, but they don't really care all that much.

Hey, they're knockin' at mah door. I'll talk to ya later.

Even though this is MUCH better than mine, this is kind of an idea-theft of my Zombie Gameshow.

Edit: Didn't read OP. Even though it's based off it a TINY bit, this is MUCH MUCH better and bigger. Bravo.

You do realize about 5 have of these have been made before? He didn't steal 'your' idea.

It's nice, but does the server lag like a bitch with the massive amounts of zombies and bullets?

Blaze0, You copied SirLanceLot?

He had a barebones version about 1.5 years ago, mine was a complete makover. Also, hi, are you hosting at the moment?

Doesn't lag until somebody dies :C

When somebody dies my console spazzes out then goes back to normal. Bullets really don't exist in quantity here since the zombies are so fast you mainly have to use melee.

Sorry for the double post, but I should also mention that most of the teir 1 + 1.5 are raycast weapons while the rest are bullet. Also there are only 4-6 zombies on the field at any given time.

Yes, it's very hard, don't be decieved by the number of spawns. 4 pool is impossible without at least 4 players.

Doesn't it get easy once one gets to the last Tier then?

Hell no. One guy with last tier weapons can't do stuff against 4 zombies, even with 3 teammates.

This is suited for 6 player games. 4 is pretty difficult but doable if everyone is competent.

Also typing using a PS3 controller is a bitch.

Conan, this is V2 remember? Also, did I show you the remodeling i did to the first one? You told me I could edit so that's what I did. And I must say, my improvements were VERY unique.

This is V1 of V2. The first one I prefer to refer to as V0.5 now since it was pretty bad.

Thumbs up if you skipped all that text.
Oh wait..this isn't Youtube..

Looks good.

Conan, when will your server be up? I might wana come and try it out!

The goal is to survive right? I think you should make it so then you have to fix your helicopter and escape to a point free from zombies.
