Author Topic: [V]CityRPG  (Read 2160 times)

Thats right, you heard me. Me and my friend Gadgethm are working on some heavy edits on Ibans CityRPG.

Our Ideas are:

Death System ( for Anti-TDM in CityRPG)
Bankrobbing
Jailbreaking
Farming/Redoing the labor system with real ores and trees
Economy
GUIs and HUDs

- Slashed out ideas are already complete, for the most part.

___

However, I'm not posting this to let everyone know what we are working on, I created this topic for a reason.

The reason that I've posted this is, I have a question. My question is: Would anyone be interested in helping us script in the GUIS/HUDs for the CityRPG? If so let me know in posts below, or to get into details you can IRC me @ "visage".

Thanks,

Couldn't most of that stuff just be done with VCE (lolvcecigarette)? Besides the GUI's of course.

Jailbreaking, yes, it could very easily be done with VCE. However the farming/real resources couldn't be done seeing as it evolves us totally rescripting the labor/resource system. (Instead of "tree" and "ore" we are adding actual ore names and tree names, much like in RP core). And pretty much all the other stuff needs to be scripted. But I'm only asking for some help with GUIs.

Wheres the original Visage?
Ontopic: Neat idea, hope you get done with it.

Wow, whoever came up with that idea is a genius!

I can help with the GUI Design/Testing.

RP content suggest

I am suggesting new RP stuff.

The first is farming.  Have a block or pole representing the plants.  When one gathers fully grown plants, they earn money.  You then have to clear the area you took the plant from, costin you money.  Planting also costs money.

me and computermix developed an economic and farming system already. Mayoral elections and capitalism is next.

The only reason all of this is going unnoticed is because I dont like to host without new features.

im not saying you can't move on with this, because Im sure itll be in fact unique.

Im just tired of people talking about this like me and my buds haven't been planning exactly this for months now.

I guess I should probably make a topic aboot it. lol

Good luck nonetheless!

i personally would rather make one from scratch than edit Iban's.

am i weird

@darkmaster20

Anyone who wants to help me, can IRC me anytime I'm on for further details.

Infact: Please do, :D

@Custard

Isn't capitalism already there with sellitem and sellfood? :L

CityRPG is like Linux.

There are too many versions of the same thing and almost all of them are crap.

When we developed the city funds system (the general economy) we noticed that the type of economic control Iban implemented was communist.

The state controls the entire labor sector, and distributes goods to shop owners. Wood and ores are sold to the state at a set price, and the state makes split profits with the business owner when the business sells their products.

To remove this system of partial communism, you have to let private labor companies sell supplies to the factories. Then the private factories process the goods and sell it to distributors, or just directly to store owners.

Labor » Processing » Distribution » Retail » Consumer

The state then taxes the goods according to the current mayor's sales tax rate, and still manages to keep a stable profit out of this system.

Therefor, capitalism will boost profits on the corporate level, and allow enterprise and capital for the whole city.

Hahaha so much AP US History nostalgia.

On topic:  Would this be a private addon?
