Hey guys, this is my first topic, but, are free-builds fun? I mean like, you can build anything you want... but are they fun?? Post a reply below and get a cookie.  :cookie: :cookie:

Some people come on topics and say "HEY IM THE FIRST PERSON!",

Well this is preventing stupid people and comments like that from happening. Thanks!

I was at a freebuild today having fun building a tower. I finish it and the server shuts down. :c.   So yes, they are fun if there is no DMing going on and the server isn't one that gets shutdown often.

Yeah that sucks when it happens, you told me on IRC. Thanks for commenting!

BTW: I just posted this less then 2 minutes ago and you commented :o

A few tips: don't sign off your name like that '-Jakob'. It's really unnecessary. Also, rarely use emotes. They make you, for some reason, look like a noobie on these forums. Lastly, the first comment blocker thing is really unneeded. Maybe on an add-on topic, but not here. Just some tips so that people take you seriously, Jakob. See you on Blockland. :)

The amount of entertainment you can gain from a freebuild depends on:

Lag: If either your connection or the host's server connection is bad, then building can be more difficult
Players: You can get really great servers with helpful people, or just spam servers with idiots building 1x1 blocks everywhere
Dedicated: It won't shut down, or is less likely to. However, you run the risk of lack of a rule-enforcing admin
Admin: Good admins = No rule breaking = Good server
Capacity: Larger servers can be more fun, yet have more buildings in place and blocking areas
Map: Goes with capacity. If a map has more building space (eg. Slate) it is generally easier to find a nice spot to build than, say, the Bedroom.
Minigames and their location: Minigames are great in a freebuild; You can stop building for a while and blow people to hell. However, minigames amongst non-joined players who want to build can be annoying.

There are more, but I guess it depends on user preference more than anything. I personally avoid them because I can build far more easily in single player and don't get distracted doing so.

Whenever I host a freebuild, a lot of people flock to my server, only to be a nuisance. So I don't host them

Yes, I get you. Free-builds can be annoying and fun. I hope they are fun for you :)

P.S. Can I have your username? I might meet you on Blockland!  :iceCream:

That, my friend is what most happens to Free builds. Chances of having nuisances come to your server than good people 75/50
But you know, it is good to try anything you want to! :)  :iceCream:

again, stop signing your posts. it's annoying as stuff. we can see your username.

Sorry, I'm stopping now, but Jakobblockhead is not my name in Blockland. 'Jakob' is. Sorry D:  :panda:

Nice to meet you, their fun if their good like whoeverhisfacenoonecaresabout causeyourdumb posted.
I have my dedicated server up all the time for friends and whoever to just come and build, not much goes on. We'll get some friends and do something like a RP or some music or something, just depends on the host and the people on the server.

Protip #2; Try not to double post, edit your posts, and most likely everyones name on here will be their name on Blockland.

As long as they have good moderation and smart players, they're pretty fun.
