There comes a time when a boy stops being a boy and starts being a man. Soon my time will change, I will grow past childhood to blossom into a fine young man and actually start doing something productive and cool other than playing servers and building stuff buildings and things like that.

This is a rather simple idea I want to get done sometime late 2012. I want to put effort, blood, tears and monster by skillet into this.

But what is Blockland Adventure?????

Soon, to be revealed after I say some stupid stuff that nobody cares about.

Right now as it seems I'm like saying "ooh I want to do this but I know I never will" all the time. It seems to me that if I think about it before I go jumping into doing any progress on it, I will mess stuff up and forever screw myself over and scrap the project.



But anyways, this is blockland adventure.

I want...I mean am thinking about making a different kind of server. Once I actually get around to port forwarding and building on my server, I want to study up on Torque, and finally release some add-ons.

Blockland Adventure will be an epic project consisted of a game mode and several add-ons!

But yes, it will be an adventure. Once I feel comfortable to ask, I will attempt to get modelers and programmers and possibly builders to help me in this important task.



Before I delve into anything important, you can ask me questions about it here if you feel like it.

I really don't want to force you to.

The story goes like this: In the dark ages of Blockland, all human knowledge was destroyed by an evil uprising, "Yao jiashen" sought to sever the ties of all mages scattered around the land. After a few hundred years, all the mages died off, and the practice of magika was forever lost.

Or so they thought. A secret clan of scholars hidden away from society to rebuild the studies of magika trained certain young men to claim the art of magik and defend Blockland against Yao jiashen, reclaim the magik arts and do stuff inbetween.


Now, from the top of my head, there will be add-ons that both me and some other people aiding the development would make.

First, the guis.

And inventory system, skills management, a health bar, magik bar, equipment system and a quest bar.

The inventory would be opened by pressing 'N'. You have slots you put items on, how much gold you have and what your character's level is. You can either drop an item by double-clicking them (which drops the item in front of you like a tool), trash an item which completely gets rid of it or click on the item one to equip the item.

Skills management would be opened by pressing the 'H' key. here you can equip three skills per use. The skill hotkeys include 'Z', 'X' and 'C'

You can get skills, but I'll tell you about it later.

Next, the health and magik bar. The health is pretty obvious, but the magik bar tells you how many more times you can use skills.


The equipment slots would be opened by pressing 'B'. It shows armor slots, trinket slots and current used items. In this screen, you can assign items by dragging them. Clicking an item sends it to the inventory screen. Any items sent to equipment will be automatically put in assigned items.

To use assigned items, press 'Q'. You can only use six at a time.


Now how to get items. There will be a new bot event called "setBotItemChance". You first select the item, and then put in the chance by choosing from a list of percents from 1-100 by tens going like this:

You can set how many items as you please.

Then you have bots that will start chats if you click them.

Once a friendly bot is clicked, he will start a conversation in chat. You can either say /topics to hear if there's any information he has, /questcheck to see if he has a quest, /sellitem x to sell the bot an item, /checkstore to see a list of items the bot is selling or /buyitem x to buy an item.


To have a bot selling, just go into events and add what items he has by "setSoldItems"

You can then just add an item and a price, and he'll sell it.

onItemSold>(Item)>addMoney

That's how you sell things.


For quests, you will have an accepted quest list of what to do. But first I'll explain how to set quests.
First, you have to create a quest.

onActivate>Self>createQuest>questName>

You do have to set a quest name in order to use it.

onQuestCreated>Quest>setQuestDetails>

The details include killEnemies for how many enemies you need to kill by a set amount, gatherItems for how many items you need to gather, or you can set via events. To set the event, you do something like:

onBotActivated>namedQuest>Finish

Then you have to start the quest:

onPlayerTouch>addQuest(questname)

You can then open the Quest GUI by pressing 'V'.

onQuestCompleted>Player>addMoney>500


Now for armor.

Armor is basically an item that adds 'defense'. The more defense you have, the less damage you take.


Now for skills, this is the tricky part. You can have bots sell you skills like items. Skills take Magika.

There are six skills in all.

Quicken: adds player speed by 30%
Block: next attack by enemy does no damage
Power strike: does 25% more damage to the enemy.
Invisibility: forces enemy to lose target.
Jump: you jump 3x higher.
Knockback: you knock the enemy back.

When you use a skill, you have a cooldown by one minute. Each 'buff' skill lasts for a set amount of time.



I am not promising this will ever be made, I am just saying I would love to make this, and I could try.

Please, do not get your hopes up I do not want to disappoint anyone.

Also, feel free to suggest anything in this thread, as that would make me pretty happy.

Reserved, too. a tl;dr version: It's going to be an add-on pack for making an adventure server, it's going to be simplified so you can use it easily, and there could be a server to show off the pack.

I think you're right, but this will be for people to use for their own sake. If and when this is ever released, I wouldn't doubt somebody making something like that.
