Author Topic: Good reason to make a Drama Topic (ReadthisyouFools)  (Read 2032 times)

I've been noticing a lot of useless drama topics. Most of them like IRC Spammers, teamkillers, some stupid kid on a server.
I check the Drama topic to get some real stuff, Icygamma being a rooster again, DrenDran's add-ons failing again, Kalphiter hacking some server<3, Badspots mailbag, good stuff.

So I thought of a good way to help keep things real and not pointless.

Post a Drama topic on that problem if;                                                                     Don't post if its something like;
Its effecting more then one person (Unless its dramatic)                                        someone spamming a server; Just leave.
Its something worth putting time to post                                                                Someone spamming IRC; just disconnect
If you have the evidence to show the case                                                             Servers are being horrible; Just leave
And more I can't think of.                                                                                         And more I can't think of.

Kinda tired of seeing these threads like
"OMG GUY SPAMS CHAT" "WTF THIS DUDE IS DUMB HE SPAWNKILLING ME" "OGM GRAV CAT HAS NO ADMINS"

I'm not saying you shouldn't post, I'm just advising people who do post, that you should watch what you post, cause one mistake and you get hailed down on by this community.

Icygamma being a rooster again, DrenDran's add-ons failing again, Kalphiter hacking some server

I don't really think this will change how people use Drama. People complain about dumb Drama's all the time.

I see the point of the topic, but would this be necessary in Drama?

Actually, even this topic violates the rules.

Things you can post here:
•Stories of online betrayal
•How tribal/offensive/noobish certain users are
•Who you should or should not ban/admin

(Quoted from topic: This is not a spam board.)
So technically, being butthurt on a server usually has a cause.

So, your "Dont posts" are actually untrue.
Someone spamming IRC: You can post that.
Server: Telling people to ban this guy.
Horrible server: Blaming the host is an option.

But it always differs if you add facts or not.
By the way, even if you get your ass hailed down by the community, you are still notifying them of a stuffhead that they should look out for.

Thats why we have the three rules topics on the top of this entire drama section. This is unneeded.

Why did you even post this in Drama?

Why did you even post this in Drama?
So people who are posting in Drama read it...?

There's no set obligations that people have to follow to make a drama thread.

The idea of the drama forum is that you post people's names and IDs who behave badly, and other hosts ban them and concurrently improve their server. Making guidelines of what to post is just being an elitist douchebag. Every single rule or guideline you've listed is either common sense, or a personal opinion.

In the spirit of the ideal drama forum I've presented, you are now banned from my server.

In general, yes this is true.

I don't like any of those threads either.  But I ignore them.  Why?  Because it's not worth complaining about them and it's not worth it (to me) to read them and therefore I don't post in them.  If those type of things happens to me, I just laugh, screenshot it (without looking like a tool by going "dramaing this", mind you), and keep the screenshots in case it comes up in Drama.

Not like anyone's forcing you to read those threads anyway.  Like the sticky thread in this section says, if you don't care; don't post.

So people who are posting in Drama read it...?
Still. It's probably doesn't belong here generally.

OP isn't a moderator. It's not like you own the board, or anything.

There hasn't been a drama about any of those things in over a month, my addons have never failed, kalphiter has never hacked a server, and IcyGamma has only been dramaed because some people think he has an ego.

Not to mention this topic is unnessacary as we already have a sticked, not stupid, version of this topic, which says:

You've subconsciously contradicted yourself by saying that my post is true.

Making a thread to warn people about users who behave badly doesn't make you a tool. You're using tool in a context where it does not fit at all. If you actually agreed with my post, you'd do what I do and skim the drama board for users who have multiple threads directed at them stating they have bad behavior(Such as Lord Tony, Johny 3 Tears, and others) and ban them from your server. However, the OP (and most likely your) ideal purpose of the drama board is for organized and glorified character assassination.

I know I've broken this guideline several times, but however if I owned the forum, I would restrict threads in drama that bitch people out who post on the forums. There is already a, "Report To Moderator" button to inform Badspot of inflammatory posts, and you can direct all criticisms to someone's opinion or post, inside the thread they already wrote it in. Anything past that is flaming which breaks the rules.

Blah blah blah, Let's drama him and get over it. Wait, does this topic come under dismissive posts? This only just about belongs on this topic. Though some of your points are true Dill.
