Author Topic: Anyone remember Blockland V8?  (Read 6899 times)

I remember getting the demo in V8, but I kind of forgot about it till v10, when I got it.

The add-on system sucked and there was always idiots putting it in the wrong folder so you sometimes had to DL the same huge mods 3 or 4 times.  Rot Zombies were actually good and zombie mods were not just horrible rip offs of Left 4 Dead.  The community just started going down hill.

Yeah aside from Zombie mod, v8 really wasn't very good at all..  Community was at it's best in v1-v7 and I'd say the actual technical scripted part of the game right now is amazing.   I would like v1-v7's amazing community back.. :\

What where some pictures of v8?

It messier, but it was not "badly coded" as you are overestimating here.

I recall total rape in the console of errors from add-ons. It was a nightmare how much crap there was about.

I joined the day before Blockland updated to v10. 9k.

I joined very close to when blockland turned v10. Im an early 10k

I think i joined in v15?

I joined V12 to V14. I used to have a 13k, but I'm now using a 28k. :|

Stop whining, Blockland was never better then it is now.

Depends from what point of view.

Good Jesus, I remember the old method for turning collision off on bricks. There was this "decolider" add-on, it was a bow that would turn collision off on bricks when you shot them.

Anyone else remember the door maker? (not the old JVS doors, the door maker)

Also the kill brick bow. Good times.
lol, I remember that now! :P

I only remember late v13 :C

I used to play v0002 when it was fresh and new, then I was still playing when retail came out, then it was dead. I decided to try out retail so I got the v8 demo, and my friend let me try online. In about v13 or something, I bought the game.

Winner's right, there is a ton of bug fixes and even Badspot said that people who preferred v8 were being idiotic.
