Author Topic: Well this is just great... (Save issue)  (Read 2288 times)

I have been running a dedicated server all night and just a few minutes ago people started crashing out. It was only a matter of time before I would to. I got this error (taken from the console log)

Fatal-ISV: (\dev\Blockland\trunk\engine\game\fx\brickOct.cc @ 1404) octBatcher::queue - out of range texture id!

So is there anything I can do? Can I go into the save in Notepad and clear out the problem, or is my save screwed?

Have you edited the file at all or edited any .blb files in your directory?

Also, it may break if you don't actually have that brick installed. (Save from another server?)

Well, it's my own server's save, but I was running a dedicated server. I also didn't have any custom bricks activated.

I did not alter the save or any of the .blb's at all.

Also I noticed that it only happens when I look in a certain direction, then the error pops up, crashing my game. So it might be a single particular brick, but I'm afraid to edit the save file in fear I'll break my save totally.

Also this line came before it, is it important?
setWheelPowered: wheel index out of bounds, vehicle has 14500488 hubs
I've gotten that line before, but not with this save. Must be an add-on screwed up or something...

I have a hunch that someone built bricks in a repeat zone faar faar away from the main build (THANKS A LOT FOR DOING THAT KIRCHE and your black market!) and screwed up the Oct Tree's... texture manager thingy (I know nothing about the Oct Tree except it's what Badspot created to organize all the bricks and their textures and statuses... I think.)

EDIT: Sorry for double posting, I didn't notice it until it was too late.

Slezak, you banned me while I was talking to someone you jerk :'(

Okay.
1) That was a COMPLETELY[/i][/u] off-topic post.
2) I don't remember banning you.

Can someone actually make a useful contribution to my issue? Please?

I didn't have any problems loading the save.  Have you tried it on a fresh Blockland install?

Are you sure? I have no problem LOADING the save, the problem is when I look in a certain direction, it gives me that error.

[UPDATE] Just tried it on a fresh install of Blockland and... IT WORKS!

So apparently, an Add-On I have installed on the other blockland has screwed up everything. I've even tried disabling all the add-ons except the default ones and it still gives me the error... I guess I might have to just reinstall the add-ons I want and that will be it...

IF ANYONE ELSE STARTS GETTING THIS ERROR, PLEASE POST HERE.
