Ideal Filetype for Profile Pictures?

I have been tinkering with this profile picture for a while now and I want to know what the most ideal filetype for a Blockland Profile Picture would be. I have tried PNG and BMP already, but they have both seemed to turn out pixelized/blurry. Any help would be appreciated.

100x100 (or anything lower) I think.

75x75 is the highest size it can be, and I prefer .PNG, but i guess you can go with any one.

A 75x75 PNG file at the most is ideal.
