You read right. Tropical Storm Irene is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane by Thursday, the day that it's expected to hit Florida.

But there's still hope yet. As it passes over Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic, the mountainous areas there and in Haiti may weaken the storm, as well as mountains it'll pass over in Cuba. Hopefully, this piece of stuff storm won't develop farther and hit us.

Yes, hurricanes piss me off. Ever since Wilma, I've been real pissy when it comes to any type of storm ready to hit Florida, mainly because here in South Florida, we're the first ones to get hit.
