Author Topic: Problem with Hosting  (Read 746 times)

On my old computer I could host just fine, then when I upgraded to a computer that used wireless internet I could still host just fine, but now that my computer is wired I can only seem the get the "---" ping. Help?

I'm pretty sure that is just the placeholder for the ping when you host with UPnP.
If you don't want to host with UPnP, you should disable UPnP hosting in your Blockland Settings, and Router/Modem settings, and forward your ports.

If you were using something like WiFi Hotspots (which are not recommended for hosting at all,) that could have been the reason why people were pinging you.
The only solution is to Port-Forward.

I tried port forwarding put when I finish step 3E my internet disconnects.

Link to set of instructions. They are different for different routers and modems.

Why isn't there an edit in Help?

Use portforward.com. Much easier instructions and for individual routers/modems.

I used the link you provided. I have a Linksys router just like the guide.

Also, I would get the same issue when doing step E3, just ignore those steps. You don't need to edit any of your PC's settings to port forward as far as I'm concerned, I used to have a Linksys and I never had to do that step.

Sometimes your router is old.
