I'm some kid's only friend. He...is a bit slow to comprehend, and easy to anger, which I suspect is why I'm his only friend, but I wouldn't really call that his fault.

Well I partially am one. I have few friends, but mostly because a lot of people are I little bit too high on themselves and their friends. I.e. thinking they're the stuff, when they're stuff. As an added bonus, I was just a year earlier in a school about 20 times smaller. I knew everyone and I was the loudest of the bunch, and the most likely to cause trouble. It just feels different when you are surrounded by so many different personalities. Plus nobody understands my humor because they only laugh at richard jokes.


Edit: I'm certain that if I wanted to make friends, I could, but I honestly don't want any starfishs around me.

Personally, I had kind of a... different childhood. I was constantly changing schools, I've gone through the new school experience more loving times than I can think of, meaning I've been thrown into an environment several times in which I am not at all comfortable with surrounded by people I don't know. I'm not very outgoing as it is, but to constantly be in a new school with an entirely new social scene has effected me in that way, I think. Now I am hardly social at all; I rarely hang out with friends unless I'm pretty close with them, I've never had a girlfriend, I even had my boss tell me at work I don't talk much.

I think your sociability is partly your personality and even moreso your circumstances growing up. Your childhood environment shapes you.

I will never understand this. How do people get to such a low level of the social ladder that they have no friends? There are like ten kids in my school who I have never seen talk to anyone and in my opinion its their own fault. For one NONE of them take care of themselves so the guys have neckbeards and the women look like lesbians, and then they dont even try to find friends. I remember in 9th grade I was friends with these two loser kids for a while and they were always complaining that "school sucked" and "people around here are such starfishs thats why I have no friends!!!". School wouldnt suck if you actually made an attempt at being socially acceptable... ANYWAY whats your opinions on why people have no friends? Any personal experience? Thanks!
