It's faster than IE or Firefox, but what about Chrome?
but what about safari? i dont have mac but i have safari and is as fast as chrome, but less buggy

I'm posting from lunascape :D

This is fun...

Lunascape has a crappy UI :(

where's the fun in that?
If that's not fun, then hover your mouse over this sentence

Just got it.
It seems great.

Just got it.
It seems great.
but the only downside of it is the UI

Tried this a while ago (when the EU browser choice thingy for Windows was released, lol), but it seemed like the worst of all three worlds.

GUI is worse than IE6, very slow, add-ons/extensions only worked when using the rendering engine the plugin was made for (this is pretty much the only area where the Lunascape concept even had potential to do something that would justify it's usage), the list goes on. And IIRC it was slower trying to change the rendering engine than just launching the correct browser myself.

So no thanks, I'm gonna keep using Chrome for now, thank you very much.

I don't notice any speed difference because everything seems nearly instant to me. I guess I'm too patient to care about that 0.01 second difference.

However, the acid3 test shows that chrome takes longer than normal on some tests.
Note however that just because overall Opera might be faster doesn't mean that it's faster in "real applications". For example "html5 games" are often optimized for Chrome.

Does anyone care? This isnt a browser wars thread
It is, in a way, since it's about a browser. So arguing something vs Lunascape would be on-topic. So, Chrome vs Lunascape would be on-topic while Firefox vs Chrome would be off-topic.

Really why would the EU make that Happen? Really People are too lazy to use IE to choose another browser?

Incompetent users and huge market share. Go figure.

Wait, the european union choose a different default browser for an operating system?
Well how the hell does that work?

Wrong.
The EU forced MS to include a bootup nag screen asking the user whether they want to switch browser. Of course, if you select IE there then it won't appear again, and the screen doesn't appear if IE isn't your default browser.

Mozilla Aurora is better than all of these stuffty browsers.

I must say, that's actually really stupid.
The government trying to change how a company makes a program?
It seems like a really petty thing to get officially involved in.

The problem is when a company uses Product A, which is targeted at idiots and has a huge marketshare (near-monopoly), to propagate the use of Product B, which is a bunch of crap, to another near-monopoly situation by including it as default and disallowing the uninstallation of it, while A is VERY "sticky".

I tried it, its pretty slow compared to chrome....
