Is skateboarding anything like snowboarding...

I was extremely good at skateboarding when I started snowboarding and my very first day I was able to carve which is pretty good usually it takes people 3+ times. The balancing is the exact same so that helps but how you turn is completely different so it isn't that identical.

also, i bought a tiretube to put around my board and keep my feet there, its fun to forget around with it. Grinds are easy, but i prefer regular skating.

any longboard junkies want to suggest a longboard for me? this is for transportation.

i'm going to move on to kickflips once i can do the following

-Ollie down 3 stairs or more  - check. I can kickflip 6 stairs :3
-Ollie up to a rail/grindbox - easily check
-Ollie down something - ....check
-Have somewhat high ollies.  - meh. check.

People say they want to skate but they don't do jack stuff. Actually get off your ass and skate, it'll be worth it.
