Why not? Sometimes people do things and you need help from another to deal with it. Of course, there are circumstances where you should keep secrets and the confidence of someone close, but if there is a valid reason I see no issue in telling others about certain matters.
That being said, sometimes it is pointless to tell others of silly things just for the sake of telling or getting someone in some form of trouble or for the praise of it. :o
