Author Topic: Looking for a cheap laptop  (Read 1635 times)

I'm going to college this year, in fact in just a few days. So, I need a laptop.

Features:
Under $300
Fast enough for photoshop/flash/blender
At least a pen touch screen, but preferably also a finger touch screen
Small, probably 12 in screen or so
Long battery life. 7+ hours.
100GB+ HDD

I'm not sure if something exists for such a low price, but I'm sure if it does, then someone here will know about it. I may be able to get a little more money but I'm not sure.

If you can't find something in my price range, then just try to get the lowest cost possible. I'll probably be able to work something out as long as its not $1000+.

Sounds good except the mac part and the size of the hard drive. Does it have the pen touch screen? I can't tell.
I didn't mention the hard drive part though. And I can install windows on it anyways.

I think I'll keep looking though.

I suggest you use the leftover money to purchase a wacom pen and touch for that type of feature.

And its a loving PowerPC G4 processor. That stuffs from 2004, bro.

I have one actually. But for one I don't want to have that clutter up my desk, and for two I can't stand the thing.

Can I have it?

Prolly dosent exist. You could get one of those $99 Liquidated 16Gb HP WebOS thingy's though. Doesn't fit that at all, But they're cheap as ever.

WebOS's are friends. Don't use them. Best one I could find is at $449.99 at Dell.

no. unless you want a computer that's completely unreliable you should probably bump that up to at least 500.

What do you mean unreliable? Crashes often or what?

I can almost guarantee that what you're looking for doesn't exist. Tablet PC's are expensive, and so are hard-drives of that size and long-lasting batteries.

My $230 laptop seems to be up to most things I've thrown at it.
And aren't there like USB pens or something?
