When Americans brag they're pretty much always right, and if you aren't offended it's because they're too humble to boast about exactly how superior America and Americans are to the rest of the world. I mean if you knew just how much the US kicks every other country's ass, you'd probably kill yourself, and we don't want that to happen. If every non-American killed themselves then we would have nobody to be superior to. So you should be grateful for your ignorance.
