I have currently come up with a brilliant idea to shine light apon how different threads get posts.
What is this about?
I want to show the whole forums how some topics like the MLP thread and the other megathreads stay alive and get posts. Is it arguing, derailing, or is it just standard on-topic discussion?
How does it work?
First I will poll recommendations.
Then I will negotiate with a thread to start the experiment.
Then I will decide on two variables to record.
Then I will start recording the next day. The first day (The control group) will be a standard day in that thread. The second day I will record the first variable, post following that variable such as arguing. The third day I will record the second variable, following that variable such as not arguing.
Then I will calculate the difference between the control, the 1st variable, and the 2nd variable.
Lastly I will post results.

None yet, keep an eye on this to see new results.
Tracking
So far, I do not know what I will use to let people track my progress. I'm thinking twitter.
That's it for now ;)
