Author Topic: Colonization: Is It Possible?  (Read 4972 times)

I am vastly interested in space. I think shutting down NASA was one of the worst moves Obama could possibly have made. Space is just... it, simply put inspires, nay, DEMANDS awe. You can look up at the sky, and see millions upon millions of stars with the right equipment. You can see planets in our solar system and how amazingly intricate the landscape of each planet is.

The topic here, Forumers, is this:
Is the colonization of other planets possible, and to what extent if so? Could humans in the future set foot on other planets and be able to build metropolises much like those on our homeworld?
What techniques could be used to accomplish the task of colonization?

The principle elements for colonization would be...
>Shelter
>Water
>Food
>Oxygen

I think if man could tackle each one of these, they could establish a working colony. But, the question remains...

How?

Eeyup.
Final launch was last month, I believe.

Space colonization is a waste of money right now.

Terraforming, as in burning various fuels and changing the atmosphere to fit the needs of humans.

Also, what if in a few years Earth gets forgeted up the ass by a meteor or something else? Will we have another planet to go to? Hell no, because of some black guy in a white house.

I'm pretty sure that was for that shuttle.

Don't we already have ways of making re-useable water/food/air?

There isn't a habitable planet that our civilization would be able to reach in a thousand years' time, Obama has nothing to do with it.

He didn't shut it down lol.

What did you watch fox news or something?

Obama ... shut down NASA?

Links. Now.

EDIT: Just making it clear I was very skeptical anyway.

He didn't. It's something about stopping moon missions, and reforming NASA's goals towards other things.

That's all I caught really
