Author Topic: The American Education System  (Read 1691 times)

I think we can all agree that the education system in the United States could be better. In 2009 a survey by the PISA found that the United States ranked as follows

Science: United States #23  Shanghai China #1

Damn Chinese are stealin our democracies and knowledge and stuff. Anyway, several countries (like Finland) have very good education systems that are far better than the United States' with only simple modifications. Children don't undergo harsh social transitions when they turn 13 and stay in the same facility. Children don't undergo schooling until age 7 and the belief here is that children are still developing and that their personal lives are what help them learn up until that point.

Children at age 7 should be at least ridin' hoes around.

Estonia beats USA. :)
I on the other hand find the education system here too difficult. :(
Every school just wants to be better than other school and in the end the students suffer because of this.

Fun fact: Your test has to be over 91% correct to get an A where I live.

Fun Fact: They had mental problems, if looked at the article, mental problems make them curious 'bout stuff, & consider Self Delete alot, as i know autistic people and look after them.

They had mental problems,
Could those mental problems stem from the problems he/she had in school?

Also,

75% of Chinese high school seniors felt under “great pressure” beginning from the period leading up to the exam, and more than 60% of parents also felt stressed out.

So I think it's safe to conclude that maybe the Chinese don't have the right idea?

They have a very competitive market, so I could probably understand why they have such a stressful environment.

As for our education system, it needs some improvements, I'd rather not compare ours to others.

Imo, no they don't. Not in the slightest.
You can't force feed education. It kills creativity, stresses the student, and really isn't that beneficial in the long run.
Edit: This isn't to say the american system is any better. Education needs a complete overhaul for the modern world.

If their educations are better, why do they work in our factories for 10 pennies a day?

Education doesn't matter, we eat them with our capitalism.

lol?

I've always felt we needed a better education system.
I didn't think we needed it this badly.

Two words: private schools
