Author Topic: I have the IPs to my schools printers. Wat do.  (Read 9918 times)

There's absolutely no reason to do this except to prove your immaturity.
I'm being lulzsec here.
They used security exploits so people would make stuff better.
And apparently I've found a huge exploit.

You're an idiot, let me point that out.

If you decided to go through with this, the whole school will end up with a punishment for an act you did. They could probably lock down all the printers so they are unusable for everyone in the school and everything would have to be printed at home, and those who can't print at home can't do anything.

I can also guarantee you that if you get caught, not only will the school get pissed so will the district, your parents, and possibly the police if it's vulgar (which would end up on your permanent record by the way, even though you are not in 9th grade). I personally would find it very embarrassing and stupid to explain why I did it.

I would suggest not doing it.
I was going to print of some obey celestia pictures, sheesh.

I agree completely with this.
When it comes to school, especially around middle school and high school, it is not a laughing matter, pranks you find funny now will end up as regrets when you are trying to apply to a college or trying to get a job.

you'll be like the only one laughing everyone else will be like "geez find something better to do :/"

lulzsec are NOT good people.
They HARMED innocent users.
Not only did they hack the servers, but distributed information about the customers.
A good hacker would've only broken in, then inform the company about the security flaw.

I'm already considered the hacker at my school and people assume that I can find the IPs in 5 minutes.

I'm also halfway between popular and average at my school.

And if I get a working laptop battery, this just might be able to work.

I'm not harming anyone by printing of some trollfaces and notes about the exploit, am I?

Actually, you are, in a much bigger sense. First, you are taking money from the district/school, which is bad especially when schools are really tight on money right now (this is assuming you live in the US). Yes, it may be only a bit of money, but what if other people follow your example? People are prone to jump a bandwagon if it'll bring them popularity or attention (just look at these forums). The small amount of money could add up very quickly. On another note, your school may shut down the printers and now allow them to be used for the rest of the school year, which would hurt your fellow classmates.

Some idiots at my school said my friend hacked PSN since he hacked his psp.

You're an idiot, let me point that out.

I don't disagree with your point, but I should point out that this:

is quite unlikly.

My friends aren't smart enough to do this.

I might forget with the settings and change it to say KILL KILL DESTROY

If he lives in the US, I'm almost sure they'd go to that point. My old elementary school used to do stuff like this all the time, a kid wrote one non-vulgar word on the wall in the bathroom; the forced us to go with a teacher to use the bathroom, heck they made us clean the bathroom because the person that did it was in our own grade. Even my middle school does this from time to time, some kid threw a milk can out in the cafeteria, they checked all the security cameras and did not allow us to buy drinks the next day.

In the end, I would highly suggest not to do this. Yes, the chances to get caught are very unlikely, but if you do get caught (and trust me, schools have may ways, school tech support may not be that smart but district tech support are) you can guarantee your parents are not going to be happy, nor is the school, nor is the district. Your grades will reflect it and possibly your permanent record may reflect it.

Can or carton? I can never throw a mini milk carton. Anyways, someone peed all over the bathroom once back in 3rd grade over an all day power outage. Good thing i didnt need to clean it up :3
