Author Topic: Microsoft Office is HOW MUCH?!  (Read 954 times)

So I have to use Microsoft Word for a report due on Tuesday, September 6.

I do not have it, so I simply decided I would buy it, thinking it was 30 bucks or something.

I go onto the website, 300 dollars.

300 dollars for a word processor.

Thank god they have a trial. That won't last me long, though. Is there any microsooft office abandonware out there?

Look around/check their site/ask your school for a student edition or something.

Google "OpenOffice".

You're welcome.

(I'd post a link but the site is down or something I don't know.)

Not just a word processor, like, other stuff for business and stuff.

But I still see your point, do what Nickelob said.

That's awesome, the student discount is only $150!

Also, I'll check it out, Nick.

OpenOffice is the solution.

you can also use wordpad.

Well it was until they forgeted with the UI so much it makes everything unusable.
Advanced things that would take me 3 clicks to do in office 2000 or whatever now takes 5 minutes to find the bizarrely placed menu and navigate through their terrible interface.

Funny thing:
-Studying computer science.
-Students get free microsoft stuff that could be usefull!
  -No office.

I so ragefaic'd.

OpenOffice works just as well, use it.

I have used it but i dislike it for a reason that remains unknown. :S

You can buy a really old copy of Office for that cheap, maybe Office 97?
But OpenOffice is the best choice if you have to use it now.
