Author Topic: i'm starting to hate pc games  (Read 2461 times)

basically, i'm getting tired of seeing a brand new pc game, going to check it out, and seeing it's for windows only. i mean really, i shouldn't have to own a loving pc to play a game. the way i see a windows only game is like this, it's basically like console only release (like halo for the xbox) only worse, because the game doesn't really have a partnership at all. it's getting to the point that i've decided that even if i do get a pc, i'm boycotting pc only games. i think it's just richardish of game producers to only release to a single platform while it's in their better interest to make it compatible with other OS's. games like l4d and l4d2 did it, why not dues ex or terraria. i think it's pathetic when i can't play a game because the developer basically just said "forget you" and didn't make it cross compatible. what are your views on the lack of cross compatibility.

Most gamers are using windows because other OS's aren't really for gaming. It's just the target audience.

Deal with it because Mac's only games are Photoshop and Ilustrater plus most Macs are laptops and we know how great laptops are at gaming.

Grew up on macs, not able to play anything pretty much. But later we got Bootcamp and on and on, and I got my own windows laptop (Which still can barely play games olol), so I feel ya.

orange box is for other systems
same with portal 2
and many other games

I loving hate it when some people don't release stuff on ubuntu and having to be forced to use wine.

I'm with you on this. Windows gets too much stuff, what about the other OS's?

I boycott pc games because my computer cant handle them.

linux is pretty much dead
mac and windows are all the rage

Why do you use a mac in the first place?

There's a reason every modern game uses DX11.

Consoles limit what developers can do. PC only releases allow more focus on making it as good as it can be.

EDIT: Lol, didn't realize you meant you have a Mac and not a console.

it's obviously because windows is superior

deal with it loser, you shouldn't have bought a mac. macs were not made for gaming. granted, neither were pcs, but they are the grandfather of pc gaming and can be set up for that purpose

I can think of plenty of reasons why they only release games for PC's.
Aside from the obvious "Macs aren't made for gaming, face it" there's things like longer development times, longer testing times before release, more bugs, more money, three separate teams needed to write patches for the three different OS's and so on.

All that being said, it's easier to just point out the fact that Macs were never meant for gaming, the industry knows this so why can't you come to terms with the fact that you bought something that wasn't meant to be used for games instead of complaining about how game developers aren't bending over backwards just to cater to making you feel better about what you wasted your money on?

Superior PC master race.
