Author Topic: Large crack has appeared in my basement  (Read 5135 times)

It's so true. I live in Virginia, just moved from California, so I REALLY Didn't expect an earthquake. My mom's first thought was: "stuff SOMEONE BLEW UP THE CAPITOL"

And then there was a hurricane. Did my move cause the end of the world? What's next? TORANDOS? [/intentionalmisspelling]

Its normal concrete behavior. My house is older and the laundry room floor is covered in hairline cracks.

that's what cement does, the soil underneath shifts due to stress, it pulls the concrete past it's braking point and it cracks. they use steel reinforced concrete though, so you should be fine. unless you have a very high ground water level your basement will be ok,

Well you better use it all before the cops get there.

stuff stuff stuff
I'm scared
I have a crack along my ceiling the same shape.

It's really loving happening fuuuuuuuuck

Cement cracks over time. It's a cheap material, anyways.

I know, I'm trying to open it up so I can fit through and eat you but it won't get any bigger! :C

It would be best to use any kind of calk on it so it doesn't get damaged from stress.

forget forget forget forget forget
I hear voices

I can't make out what they are saying forget

It's me and my accomplice discussing how the hell we're going to expand the crack.

hold on hold on, I can make out a bit off it
it sounds like 3 words, the first seems to end with -ence

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

"Sence man, sence! Use your common sence, we can't use a loving jackhammer on the crack of we'll freak him out!"

Why I am even telling you this I don't know

The same thing happened on my bottom yesterday!
