Author Topic: How to stop voice from breaking?  (Read 3919 times)

At 14, my voice still breaks sometimes when I speak. I was talking to my mom, and you know when people laugh sarcastically? My voice broke when I was speaking and it sounded like a sarcastic laugh. So now my mom is epically pissed at me. I can't tell her that's what happened, she'll think I'm lying, My parents don't exactly find me very trustworthy.

What do I do?

EDIT: My mom said, "Your speech was dripping with sarcasm. The only intent was to be mean." I tried to explain what happened, but she said, "No, you're lying. You were trying to be mean and that's all there is too it." She then added, "No electronics for the rest of the week." So, I'm posting from my mobile now. Pretty pissed.

Stop talking and you'll be fine.

I'm 17 and my voice tends to break at times ;~;

I KNOW! I'LL HIT MY LUNGS WITH A WRENCH!

Grow up.

I'm 17 and my voice tends to break at times ;~;

I always teased my brother when his voice did that
Good times, good times.

You can't stop it.

Although, mine never breaks.

I know someone who's 17 and his voice still breaks :cookieMonster:

Sounds like a tough deal with your parents.

It's happening to me since I was like 12.

I get pissed off, because girls always laugh at me when my voice breaks. :[

My voice only breaks when I try to go up really high. I was voice acting as a girl in lit class, which everyone thought was hilarious, but then I tried to be an angry girl. Did not work.

Also, the more you practice with a tone, the less likely you are to have it break. Talk a lot. Or sing a lot for range.
