Author Topic: Buying/assembling new computer, feedback on part list needed  (Read 927 times)

I have decided to buy a new computer because of this thread.

I am probably getting the parts tomorrow, if nothing unexpected happens. Any tips of something list that should (not) be on the list (model, etc, not just categories)?

At the moment 10 SEK (what the prices are in) pretty much equals 1 GBP.

Note: This will mostly be used for processing-heavy tasks, not gaming. Although I'll probably start "gaming" on it later on when (if) I get a good graphics card for it.

That IS a problem

Newegg is your friend.

Except I'm not buying from there so the prices would be inaccurate.

Where are you buying from?

http://datorfixarna.com/, the local computer parts store.
Besides, isn't Newegg american? That's pretty long shipping.

Ah yeah... Forgot that...

I'm using newegg because I like what they have.

Should get an i5/i7. That's my opinion though so...

Incase you didn't check the parts list, it contains an i5.

I did

I hate paying attention

Also do the motherboard socket and processor socket match?

Yes.

It's a good list, only thing that's bad is the video card but you did say it's just until you get a better one.

However the PSU is quite bad. I'd suggest that to be your next upgrade before your video card.

I said I'm probably not buying any video card for now and just using the CPU-integrated one, as I'll primarily use it for CPU-intensive tasks and do GPU-intensive tasks on my laptop. And because buying it would bust the budget.

Yet another bump because of delays.
