I remember when they weren't just remakes of the previous models with different shaped heads and weapons.

I think I still have some of the originals.
And those colored enemy dudes. Can't remember the names of them.
And the leader of them.

One word:  Barraki.  That's right.  I had all seven of them.  Even Nocturn.  Hell yeah!

Oh, and I also have all the original Toa Mata and the Bohrok.  My collection is massive, yet incomplete.  Must... Complete... Collection!

Started sucking after 2004, tbh. I expected a more cyberpunk type city from metru-nui so I was pretty disappointed by that, but I still liked the second movie. After that it was trash.

AFAIC, when you say "toa" you mean the original loving toa.

Nope.  The original are the Toa Mata.  Then there were the Toa Nuva, followed by the Toa Metru, followed by the Toa Hordika, followed by the Toa Inika, followed by the Toa Mahri, which were then followed by the Toa Phantoka and Toa Mistika.  Also, the evil ones were always cooler.
