Author Topic: Gay Straight Alliance thing at my school, kids being dumb (rant)  (Read 1710 times)

Yeah and know "you're the bad guy" in the situation. :[ Sucks. You're view is better anyway because by the sounds of it you don't really mind what loveuality they are.

I just dislike how I must support every cause or else I'm a southern raised conservative gay-basher.

Also, I am a bit uneasy around people of other loveualities to be honest but I'm not going to dislike or hate them for it.

You should of just accepted the damn sticker.

I don't exactly want something reading "MY FAVORITE COLOR IS RAINBOW :3" on my shirt

or are you being sarcastic?

Lol at my school my sister was called a national socialist because she pointed out that most jews had olive colored skin and bigger noses.

it sounds like a lie for what they were really doing.

religion vs modern accepting world

Funny thing is about 1/2 of them claimed to be Christians.

Anyone with any common sense would know this would happen. If I was giving out the stickers, and someone said no to one, of course I'd presume they're anti-gay.
You should've just accepted the sticker. Whatever about wearing it, just show that you aren't anti-gay.
Also, knowing teenagers, you're going to be called gay and closet homo pretty damn soon by everyone.

a southern raised conservative gay-basher.
Stop stereotyping.

I know people who are gay, and while I may be against it, there are loads of Southerners who aren't.

See ya later!

He's not dismissing the whole point of the thread.

If that's really how all teenagers think than I really want to graduate high school already. I know they might suspect I might not be tolerant of them, but they shouldn't act hypocritical to their cause. Maybe asking "Why not?" would have at least helped better than "Oh, he's one of THOSE people"

I'm pointing out a stereotype, not necessarily stereotyping anyone.

Nobody stops and thinks. And I mean it. Nobody does, apart from maybe a small minority.
They just guess and go on what they think.

gay people being gay

I guess then I'll just detach myself socially from them considering they can't take 10-30 seconds to ask and understand why and instead just assume things. There was literally only one other guy in my class who rejected for for the same reason as me and basically said "I don't care what they think about me", though he is quite the non-conformist from what I can tell from previous experiences. Besides, I don't want to be pushed over only by peer pressure to support that cause.

Also, if this stuff becomes the new McCarthyism, I will move out of this country ASAP

Report them for bullying you.

It's not that, it's more like just a slight comment and then just ignoring or thinking less of me for it. No actual abuse or anything. It still pisses me off though.
