I think only their first 2 albums could be considered Nu-Metal, especially The Sickness (which is the only one I actually like significantly), after that they became more alternative metal.

Alt Metal and Nu Metal are pretty interchangeable.

Anyways, the only band I can stand from the Alt Metal genre is Deftones. I love them actually. Mostly because they're not afraid to experiment and dabble into different genres like shoegaze and trip-hop.

Fixed op is fixed
'peed metal'

who knew metal had the ability to piss

it was the inspiration to countless metal bands and artists, you know.

I know that perfectly well, but that doesn't make them metal. Blues artists were the inspiration for early rock and roll, but that doesn't mean blues was rock and roll.

You're talking about Death Metal but you miss Cannibal Corpse?

To all the people who say "I DUN LIKE METAL"
That's nice.
But what purpose does it serve to be stating this in a thread about metal aside from making a complete waste of a post just to assert that your opinion is different than the majority of the people posting in the thread, and oftentimes by making insults towards what that majority of people likes?
That's called attention whoring/trolling.
Stop it.

That's not metal, take that epic stuff to the classic rock thread.
"Led Zeppelin are regularly cited as one of the progenitors of heavy metal and hard rock even though the band's individualistic style drew from many sources and transcends any one music genre."

Opinions. Music is a form of art so there is always going to be some degree of conflict on as to what is what, since you can't place definite barriers onto genres that are closely interrelated.

I just really dislike how a majority of kids only like Disturbed for 10k fists and albums beyond that. They're OK in my book, but the first 2 were MUCH better. Though I know you pretty much dislike all of the band's work, but we do have opinions.

Ordered this today on purple vinyl. Can't wait until it arrives.

10000 fists had no meaning behind it

Real bitches listen to Another Way to Die and Inside the Fire.

forget yeah, dude! Amazing album right there, seriously. They have a DVD in which they do the full album live straight through without stopping. Goddamn incredible.

Forged in the fires of hate, anger, and passive aggressiveness.

A masterpiece so perfect that it couldn't remain hidden forever.

A precious child within the eyes of metal.

Mortals, the time has come. Prepare your minds.
