Stratovarius is pretty good, but I don't like their vocals. Gamma Ray is ok too.

I don't like the newer really heavy stuff. Especially screamo type stuff.

Screamo isn't metal. It's emo with screams.

Second of all Black Sabbath isn't soft. They are heavy as forget.

Yeah, Black sabbath isn't soft. I guess I just prefer the classic metal bands.

Though I would like all metal if not for the singing. Sometimes I just want to listen to lovey music like that without hearing voices.

Most of the time the vocals are bearable. Honestly I only don't like the vocalists from slayer, pantera, and stratovarius.

what? you cant listen to primal concrete sledge without lyrics, sillybuns
but i do agree with the slayer bit
just look up "slayer instrumental" to get them, well, instrumental

Well I don't listen to Pantera all the time.

Slayer can become annoying. Panteras earlier stuff was bearable, their newer stuff such as GSTK is garbage. Stratovarius i don't know.
But there are many bands that are way worse, vocal-wise. Death/Black metal-vocals are an accquired taste :P

Disturbed is just a stuffty bargain bin nu metal band.

I think only their first 2 albums could be considered Nu-Metal, especially The Sickness (which is the only one I actually like significantly), after that they became more alternative metal.

the definition of heavy metal is the same as speed metal; might want to change that
