No you can't.

Yes you can.  Only when you share the same server with every other computer in the school.  It requires a login though, so if you were to do something... well, don't install research into your friend's documents folder.  It says you did it.

Very true.  There's little "control" software written for Mac OS X I think, and a LOT more "control" software for Windows.

My school has a baseline standard of Windows 7 and Core 2 Duo powered desktops in any room with a computer.  Very few still have XP.
Fuucccckool kids klub I wish my old school did that. We had to sit around these enormous eMacs that couldn't even load Blockland forums correctly. And the tech guy said they were "high tech".

I actually did something like that. I remotly logged into another kids computer and put his documents inside an enormous folder maze after renaming all the files.

It was fun.

Our school is switching to Windows MultiPoint 2011.

Your computer has terrible security if you can edit other people's files.

We use ThinkPads at my school ):

Wow, did all the students in your school get an ipad? You must live in a really nice place. I live in a school system that has gotten the highest ratings that can be achieved for 11 grades, 10 years in a row, and not even we have ipads.

no, they are on carts. One cart for each classroom. We are assigned a certain iPad, and it goes back in the cart at the end of class. Only the highschool kids can take them home, and then they are returned to the school at the end of the year.

Our school doesn't give the students free computers (or entertainment devices posing as one) but most of my teachers have a class website for homework and some even have a facebook. Some require emails a lot, so having a portal laptop is almost required for my school.

Dude, it's a public school.  Think about it, those guys are paid to "get the job done".  They probably sit around and forget with people all day.

so..... what happens when kids begin stealing them?

BETTER THEN THESE FRIGGIN SMART BOARDS >:C
Lol our school has smartboard. Whats good is that they can double for a projector screen when we watch stuff
