Author Topic: Why do Grown men / Teenage Boys like "My little Pony??"  (Read 40047 times)

Most likely not. But it at least achieved the goal of making a kid show parents aren't embarrassed to watch. :S

This is true

I remember when wearing leather and greasing your hair made you edgy and rebellious. Now it is not putting on your pants properly and watching My Little Pony.

What council decides on this stuff? Because someone has to find them, dethrone them, and use their influence over teens and young adults to take over the world because, obviously, they aren't doing a good job at it. Next thing you know "rebels" will be walking around in leather chaps and strumming on their banjo while this generation ages in their rocking chairs reminiscing about their precious ponies.

despite what wikipedia might make you think, you still know nothing about mental disorders
I know something about mental disorders! :D!

For the sake of evenhandedness, I don't think that it was meant for our age group. I'm not saying it isn't our right to watch it, I'm just saying in all seriousness that it most likely wasn't intended for us.

In season 2 so far, there's no parties or colorful houses or boring plot etc. It's a genuinely interesting television show that has become gender and age neutral.

become gender neutral.
Except for the fact ponies are girly. Ehehehehehe....

Okay, now my quota is met. :U

>the slightest implication that you do.
never said i did, but i can sure as stuff tell when someone doesn't know anything about them and is just pulling it out of their ass

i watch this show because it's good, not because i want to be a rebel

Yes, and Lord Tony wears chains because he doesn't want anyone stealing his pants.

OKAY, NOW I'M DONE. :U

From what I've heard, I hear the show is actually fairly original. If so, that's a great way to capture viewers. Especially if it was meant to be entertaining to older people, that can be a great (if not too great) point for the show.

Then there's CSI: Miami. Every episode. Someone dies, case solved. Why do people still watch it? Idk. :c

Let me help.

The show was created and targeted for young females to watch with their parents.
Meaning it was meant for, and expected, to be viewed by young females (and possibly) with their parents.

This has been confirmed by the creators multiple times.

This doesn't mean that other age/gender groups are excluded from viewing it.
It merely means they were not expected to watch it, and the content is made of things that probably would not interest them.

It's like the whole "girls don't play videogames" because the games are generally targeted for male-gamers.
It doesn't mean a girl can't play and enjoy Halo - it simply means it wasn't centered for their usual interests.

I laughed harder than I should have.
But when did a pony show become rebellious? It doesn't exactly scream defiant does it?

Except for the fact ponies are girly. Ehehehehehe...
Well, apparently not anymore. The entire plot and execution of S2E1 didn't remind of a girls show at all. In fact, the beginning actually reminded me of an action movie I can't put my finger on.

who the forget cares if it's girly or not gender roles are handicapped and outdated

Teh watchers are secretly homoloveual and they reject that by watching female pony research.

OR
The show is addicting. I watched an episode with my baby niece. I have a feeling this show is about friendship being magical.

Why does every bronie get so defensive over MLP?
They act so badly when confronted with it.

Why does every bronie get so defensive over MLP?
They act so badly when confronted with it.
Because they get offended when someone offends their "group"

You must have missed the quote from Autismspeaks.org

Once again you show signs.
