It started out on /co/, the people there obviously love cartoons and saw that it was a well-made cartoon, and then some people started putting memes to the screencaps, which they then brought it to /b/ and the rest is history. Also, it was only a bit forced in the beginning. People only say its forced because their tired of hearing people try to convert them to bronyness when they don't want to be a brony-we're kind of like Christians in a way.
