Author Topic: MicroBlock ROM Catalogue - Latest: Multirom 1.0 (Hardware)  (Read 11315 times)

Alright, I've been trying to make a ROM for the computer, but I have no good examples to work with. I can't figure out why none of the keys are responding or what I'm missing, so does anybody have a ROM whose link or event list I might have overlooked?
Have you looked at the tutorial? I can come help you with making ROMS on friday if thats a good day.

MicroBlock Multirom 1.0

Info
The Multirom 1.0 device is an extra set of ports for your Icecube A2 computer. It expands ROM storage allowing you to flick between any four ROMs at any one time, saving time with duplicating and allowing you to connect multiple instances of ROM-dependent hardware for high end functionality.

Usage
Please follow these steps and read the notes attached.

1.  Load the build. Place the Multirom in a convenient place, preferably near the device.

2.  Duplicate the included ROM brick into the ROM slot on the A2.

3.  Duplicate up to four rooms each in their slot on the Multirom device (the ROM slots in diagram).

4.  Press the transparent plastic above the ROM (until you see it glow on and off) to select what ROM you want to use (the ROM selectors in diagram).

5.  Hit the C button on your computer. The selected ROM will operate.

NOTES:
Requires VCE 6.01 or newer to operate. Be sure to use the right ID for the right computer (currently supports default 0 only-- its easy to convert if you want to, for now I don't have the time). Supports both 1x2f and dual 1x1f ROMs.

WARNING: This device requires the ROM slot on the A2 computer for the driver software, do not attempt to run the driver ROM from the Multirom itself.

Specification & Download
4x switchable ROM slots
1x ROM driver software (required)

Computer not included, only Multirom. Multiple-ID version coming soon.

Cool I like it.
Multirom
Couldn't the ROM be done with all default events

All good hardware should be using system variables to ensure nothing runs when it shouldn't. This doesn't make a difference for the user as they need to have VCE to use the computer in the first place.

We, Power Block. Make pc's that use default events and don't have any ERROR's or things running when they shouldn't. and the ZC1 has more capable roms. But on the other hand the roms are bigger, and the keyboard is bigger.

I've seen your topic, its an ugly stereotypical computer build that has few events and goes on about pseudo-hardware.

and the ZC1 has more capable roms.

You have no ROMs. Also, I think you'll find the term "ROM" was never used before the A2 computer when referring to programs for builds, people always called it "cds" which annoyed me. Just sayin', your work is just a poor copycat. Find your own style.

Please do not try to advertise your trashy things in my topic. Your clan topic is embarrassing and I don't want association.

Ya know what would make this really popular, sheath?, if you worked with a scripter and had the roms spawn with the events preset, and maybe even had a disk brick made? *hint* *hint*

Dun get eet.

This is cool and it works great. I have done one really really really simple change to it, a key on the keyboard to turn on and off the projector.

Having a big keyboard sucks.
Also stop advertising your clan.
I don't like clans, isn't it better to just have friends?
With those friends you can build and event

Having a big keyboard sucks.

Glad you said that.

Its no coincidence the keyboard on the A2 is only 4 bricks across. If you haven't noticed already, it fits into the shape of the computer (the length of the bricks that touch the ground between the sloping sides of the case). I also find its better if there are less keys so its easier to use, Blockland players have a narrow view and it sucks having to turn your whole body when in first person to click a button.

-lolwut-
isn't this basically just adding a brick on top of the 4 1x1s that has, "onrelayup" on it?

Its very simple yes.

The computer usually relays a brick below the ROM port that relays the ROM. In this case, it relays a ROM that redirects it to a set of identically named bricks inside the Multirom. The Multirom uses a variable to focus it onto the selected brick.

Simple but effective.

How many current ROMs are existent?

The only ones I am accountable for that can be downloaded are two driver ROMs, assuming somebody else will be working on their own or I release a few WIP ROMs soon that allows for reasonable usage of the Multirom.
