About this topic
This is the official MicroBlock topic for ROMs and hardware for the Icecube A2 Blockland evented computer. Its where MicroBlock and anyone else (including you) is free to submit your evented programs and games for the computer, or any physical extensions you have created. You can download them and load them for use with the Icecube A2 Blockland computer. This topic was created to seperate it from the Icecube topic to prevent any information overload in the OP.

Click here to download the Icecube A2 BLPC and see more.

Click here to see a demo of the computer, and a demo of the HD 1 projector and the Scanner 1.0.

Submit ROM / Hardware
Anyone can program a ROM (a brick which is slotted into the computer and runs custom events) and use it or share it. PM Sheath and your events will be reviewed. If they follow the standards it will be added here-- we'll take care of all the rest. A great way to share your mini-events. We love seeing people contribute this way.

If you do not wish to convert your build to suit all computer IDs, we can do this for you on request.

Note:  We do not condone the use of 3rd party events beyond systems such as VCE, Amades Bots, or Zones. We may not accept ROMs made with non-default and / or non-approved event systems. Feel free to query this further with Sheath.

To learn how to make ROMs for the Icecube, and to see the standards, click here to download the developer guide PDF.

Please note that, you will need moderate knowledge of how to use VCE and have a good mind for problem solving as you will traditionally only have two bricks to event on (200 events).

MicroBlock Scanner 1.0

Info
The Scanner 1.0 device is the first image scanner MicroBlock has developed. Built and evented by IcyGamma.

Draw on the white canvas space using your paint can. You can then scan the image to the computer screen, for viewing. Works well with the HD 1.0 projector, so you can put on an art show or presentation with your friends!

Usage
Please follow these steps and read the warnings attached.

1.  Duplicate the ROM into the front slot on your Icecube. Use the invisible placeholder brick below the ROM. Do not paste the invisible brick into the slot, place it just below so the two visible bricks are pasted inside the slot.

2. Turn the Icecube A2 computer on.

3. Turn the Scanner 1.0 device on (the top of the three buttons, press the ? buttons for help).

4.  Hit the ROM loader button on your keyboard (the C button).

5. Wait for the ROM to load, until a white screen appears.

6. Using your paint can, draw on the white space on the device (the canvas).

7.  When you are ready, hit the middle button on the scanner. The device will close and scan to the screen.

8.  When the scanning is finished, the device will re-open.

WARNING:
Requires VCE 6.01 or newer to operate. Do not use the device in a laggy or slow server. Use a generous schedule setting. Do not attempt to remove cover during scan. Avoid quitting program with the D key during a scan. The scanner will refuse usage unless the ROM software is active. The MicroBlock Scanner 1.0 is designed for the default colorset, results my vary with modded colors.

NOTES:
In the unlikely event the scanner continues to scan when the ROM is closed, turn off the device and remove the ROM from the computer. Restart the computer.
In the event the scanner does not complete a full scan, you may be experiencing latency that is effecting relays in the device. You will need to address this before proceeding with a scan.

May make an app for the IceCube.
Then go on to make my own computers and laptops.
Thanks, Sheath

Urm, Sheath. I need to see you or chat to you about some help for an app. I think I've hit a snag but I think I'll need you to take a look at it and get some support on it. c:
Would that be okay?

I think icy only looks at apps in the micro-block server.

If by app you mean application to MicroBlock, I can't help you.

If you mean ROM, I'll be happy to take a look and give advice if you can host and name a suitable time.

This is really cool, especially how you're going about it like a real product.

Thanks c:

I like handling event builds in mock-product ways, it makes it more fun for others to read about and use, and its more interesting as a project.
