Good FPS Steam Games?

Okay, so i'm getting bored of downloading free games off of steam, and i can't just play Terraria for the rest of my life. So, does anyone have any good recommendations for a FPS game on Steam that's $30 and below? I have some money I've been saving for a game, and just couldn't find a good one.

I have TF2 installed on my other computer, but it crashed so I'm not planning on wasting 8 hours just to download it, and i barely played it.
I heard Dead Island and Left 4 Dead were amazing, I'll have to check those 3 out. I was also looking at Bioshock as well, since i heard it was pretty good, but it doesn't seem that interesting. I've been hearing EVERYONE talk about CSS, and i think i might get it. :D
Also, i heard HL1 was good as well.

Borderlands and Fallout 3 are my personal recommendations. Borderlands feels rewarding in the collecting, and Fallout 3's scavenging for things is addicting.

You should get css it's pretty good, CS:GO is coming out sometime next year so it'll be like, a really improved version of CSS.

I'm still deciding on these choices: HL1, CS:S, FO3, and maybe Borderlands. So if I do get CS:S, I might get CS:GO when it comes out :D. What do you guys think?
