I've been making water rise without the shoreline breaking. It rises one block every minute. This is our clock. The server is up.

Here's when we started the scooba base.

We also found that if we see how many blocks down from the water our building is, that's how long in minutes it takes for the water to get us.

Right now it's flooded badly. We had to build like real high up so we could last a bit over an hour. Below, you can see it all flooded.
