read the thread handicap. im fine with concept - cheap computer, great! problem is that it will never get to people that have an actual need for it. its planned to be used to teach kids computer programming. if theyre learning computer programming they have no NEED for something like this, its just cool

Not so bad, but my phone has better specs xD

oh, if we're being THEORETICAL then this is loving great! i totally love it!
..the whole problem was i can't see it being PRACTICALLY successful. hopefully im wrong, but meh.
I can see it, even with the current use, it's a great cause.  It's something kids should learn.

No need?!  It would be great.  a small easy to use computer is a dream.  It's like an awesome ti-84 or whatever.

If they're learning computer programming, they don't need a computer?

It's cheaper than a smartphone with service.

yes, it would be great, but theyll be perfectly 100% fine without it.

If they're learning computer programming, they don't need a computer? It's cheaper than a smartphone with service.
youre dumb. 1- if theyre learning computer programming they obviously already have access to a computer. you dont learn how to build a racecar before you get your driver's license. 2- no stuff.

Guys, stop arguing. Some are too stupid to reason with.

You DO need a car before your license.  And how would you know that they would have a computer already?

because if they didnt have a computer why the hell are they learning computer programming. if this is about getting people access to computers that dont have computers, then just give this stuff away to third world countries and show them how to use the internet, create documents, etc - they dont need to know how to program stuff.

To give opportunities for people to pursue careers they would like.

theyre gonna need a bit more than a $25 computer, then. preferably a college education.

hey
guess what
my friend is in a low-class family, her father doesn't exactly have the best pay. and guess what? her computer is a dinosaur that's older than this $25 dollar computer, and it has horrid specs.

guess who can benefit from this $25 computer?

i'd seriously doubt its specs are worse than this. the CPU in this thing is 700mhz.
