let me put it this way:

what the forget

lord tony is easily butthurt  :cookieMonster:
Don't see why he should be butthurt.

We, honestly, can't be sure where life came from until we get more advanced. Humans are just that, human, we are prone to making mistakes. We've made mistakes over and over again, thinking the world was flat, the Earth was at the center of the solar system etc. etc. We'll find out where life came for sure one day, but until then we can only guess.

My guess is that humans will be killed off by our own stupid mistakes before we become advanced enough to know what any of this is for sure.

And I can get into this much more in detail outside of the forum. Too much to type.

humans are going to kill themselves most likely in war

or just finally killing off a major part of the earth's ecosystem

Humans are violent, ruthless creatures. If ETs exist -- which they do -- they would have overcome their violent past, which basically replicated ours, made it to the stars and thrived. If they can do it, we can too. We just need time. Time to become more intelligent. Time to learn from our mistakes. Time to realize what will become of us if we don't get our act together.

"I'm not sure what World War 4 will be fought with, but World War 5 will be fought with sticks and stones."

My thoughts are that the earth would have to unify before ever hoping to successfully explore the universe. And then we worry about galactic battles, much like wars between countries. And then those would have to unify.

if god doesn't exist then explain the 8 ballpoint pens in my penub hole

oh wait you can't

implying anything that isnt from earth will be super-advanced

yep

everyone i think knows this essentially but just doesnt care enough about the concept to actually do it.

but galactic battles are extremely unlikely when you think about it.

what dumb race that accomplished the ability to travel through lightyears of space would waste fuel and vessels trying to fight another race

Either that or transport of soldiers to planets for war. And I only mean battles as in between Humans

If we can get to the stars after unifying then we would be pretty safe from ourselves. That would mean we have evolved enough over time to realizing kicking the stuff out of each other wouldn't get us anywhere, creating peace. I would worry more about what is out there, alien races that might've made it to space but are either xenophobic or extremely hostile, something that would attack us. Fighting an alien race that has been around for god knows how long would be like the Conquistadors fighting the Aztecs, we would be the Aztecs and we would stand no chance.

Wouldn't you think early colonies would demand independence much like the american colonies did from european countries?

Not relating to advanced alien races.

what dumb race that accomplished the ability to travel through lightyears of space would waste fuel and vessels trying to fight another race
what dumb race that accomplished the ability to establish colonies on other continents oceans apart from each other would waste resources trying to fight another race/natives
