what dumb race that accomplished the ability to establish colonies on other continents oceans apart from each other would waste resources trying to fight another race/natives
every european nation that settled in the New World but that was back before the industrial revolution (mostly)

Wouldn't you think early colonies would demand independence much like the american colonies did from european countries?

Not relating to advanced alien races.
That is a possibility. However, you are assuming that based on our history I would guess, the key to reaching space would be uniting. If they did demand independence, hopefully the new faction wouldn't be hostile to us, since humanity would be a less violent and ambitious race.

thing is if you have a colony lightyears away from the home planet and they need something...

uh

i guess it'd be kinda like Roanoke Island

Lets say we colonize the moon or mars in some way.

Lets say we colonize the moon or mars in some way.
at least if we did that we would have a form of somewhat quick communication through radio signals.

Theoretically, if we can get it to work without catastrophic destruction, we could use mass drivers to send supplies to a colony, if we find a way to break the speed of light. If not, hopefully we have some sort of engine/drive/whatever that is capable of it so we can use ships instead. If that fails, self-sufficient colonies.

colonizing mars is a lost cause

we cant get enough oxygen and other gases to be able to terraform it correctly and not spend more money than the US government has to be able to maintain it

colonizing the m--oh

if we colonized those somehow it'd be much easier since it doesnt take near as long for radio to go back and forth.

rockets still would take a long time to assemble and send up.

speed-of-light travel is impossible, warp speed is being researched and hopefully will work out.
self-sufficiency on another planet would be hard since it'd cost too much

We don't know that for a fact, we aren't even sure of our own theories. Again, scientific advancement could make FTL travel possible and make colonization cheaper.

Lack of a magnetic field means the atmosphere would get blown away anyway.

Um no im not spayc cigarette
bugr of im tyring 2 chalk abut SPAc

speed of light transportation would require an infinite source of fuel.

You're ignoring scientific advancement. We have no idea what we are capable of creating in due time. I can't say for sure any of this will be possible, but the point is it may be possible to have something realistic.

warp speed would be the advancement that would allow near light speed travel

nobody expected the invention of the wheel though, right?
