Author Topic: Connect one router to another?  (Read 994 times)

I can't buy anything.
Well that's how you have to do it, you'll just have to figure out how to make it work or go without it. We can't make it magically free to you because you are too young to walk to a store alone or buy stuff off the Internet or whatever. Tell your parents you want one for your birthday or something.

For $9 you could also get a 75 foot cable, which will be cheaper, faster, and more stable than a wireless connection. On the other hand you have a giant cable to take care of.

Bridging is when you have two wireless access points that transmit data between them, acting as a bridge. So if you have a wireless router, and need internet access far away but can't run a line, you can get a wireless access point and use it to "bridge the gap" between the two locations. The link I provided on the other page is a device you can use for this. It acts as a switch, bridge and access point. There's probably cheaper ones that just act as bridges.

I have a Trendnet TEW 432BRP and a 2wire 2701-HGS

That doesn't really help, I don't know specific network hardware models...

From the OP, it seems like all you need is a bridge. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833156307

EDIT: Basically, you'd plug in the devices you want for that, and configure the device to connect to your wireless router. It won't be the best connection, but if wireless is your only option it will work.
