I don't like scripting items, so ask Munk or Ipquarx. I like the food ideas, though.

I'm currently unsure at the moment if they're going to be items or not, I was thinking that you pick them up, they go in your inventory, the you have to open your inventory to actually eat them.

I also finished canned food, a soda can, moonshine, and beer, need to do more...

Essestially, yes. I'm basically using two default skyboxes and switching them, along with lighting. I'm using parts of my random lighting script to do lighting, but rather than making it random, it will have predetermined values.
