Author Topic: Laptop Battery died  (Read 1540 times)

My battery finally gave up. I can no longer unplug my laptop without it dying. Do any of you guys know if I could exchange it for a new one? It's a Sony VGP-BPS9. I'm considering going to my Staples and give it to them, but I really need a new one and I doubt they'll give me one. Plus the price for one there is crazy.

My laptop battery died a month ago. I took the battery to Staples, they looked it up, ordered a new one, and I picked it up a few days later. Wasn't cheap though.

My Mac charger died and I got my Mac from school. :x

Go to amazon.com, type in your laptop model and the word battery.  You will get much cheaper results for your laptop battery that work just as good.

I did that for both my Dell Latitude D610 and my Acer Extensa 4620.  Normally batteries are $100+, I bought them for $30-$40.

This is a result of constantly having it plugged in. It ruins the battery life.

Is it the same for macbook?

Unplugged my laptop immediately after I read this.

He means for a long period of time (i.e. a whole week repeatedly or a month straight).

Having it plugged in during the day will only affect it very slightly.

A loss of battery life cannot be prevented.  It will happen whether you like it or not.

Thanks guys. I'll try to follow Mr.Nobody's advice when I get my new battery. I found one on Amazon that I'll hopefully buy. Locking.
